Results and position in Google
Clicks, impressions and what 'position' actually means.
Once Google Search Console is connected, SEOHero shows how your website performs in Google. Without the connection these figures stay empty.
Clicks and impressions
- Impressions: how often your website appeared in the search results.
- Clicks: how often someone clicked through to your website from Google.
The overview compares the last 30 days with the 30 days before and shows a chart of the last three months.
What position means
Position is the average spot where your website appeared in Google. Position 1 is the top result, 1 to 10 is the first page. So lower is better.
It is an average over all searches you appeared for: if you rank 3 for one search and 30 for another, the average lands in between. A rising average can therefore also mean you became visible for more searches, even if you still rank low for them.
Where you see it
- Overview: clicks, impressions and average position for all your websites (or the website you pick in the sidebar).
- Keywords: per search query the clicks, impressions, CTR and position, with arrows showing the change since the previous sync.
- Articles: on every published article the clicks, impressions and position of the last 28 days.
How current it is
SEOHero fetches the data twice a day. Google itself lags two to three days behind. New articles usually need weeks to months before they settle into a stable position.
