Reading your SEO audit

The audit looks at your website the way Google does: the homepage, up to ten pages linked from it or listed in your sitemap, your robots.txt and mobile speed.

When the audit runs

The score

The score (0–100) is made up of five parts:

Within a part, checks do not weigh the same: a missing page title, broken links or a site Google may not index count more than, for example, a missing Twitter card. If your site blocks Google (noindex or robots.txt), the score is at most 20, however good the rest is.

Fix these first

At the top of the results are the three findings with the most impact on your score, with what you can do about them. Start there. Checks that already pass are collapsed per part.

Findings per page

Below the checks you see, per crawled page, what can be improved: titles and meta descriptions that are too long, too short or duplicated, a missing H1, images without alt text and pages with little text. Pages deliberately kept out of Google (noindex) are not assessed.

Speed

After the audit, Google PageSpeed measures your homepage on mobile. That takes 10 to 40 seconds; the card fills in by itself. If Google has data from real visitors (the last 28 days), you see it separately and it counts in your score. Without that data the simulated lab test counts.
