The backlink network

Backlinks, links from other websites to yours, help Google judge how trustworthy your site is. On the Growth and Scale plans your websites can join the SEOHero backlink network.

Joining

Go to Backlinks and click Join the network for a website. You can join and leave per website, at any time.

How a link is placed

When SEOHero writes a new article for a website in the network, we look for a published article from another member that fits the topic and is written in the same language. If one fits, the new article links to it once, with anchor text that describes what the reader will find there. If nothing fits, no link is placed.

The network works the same way for your website: your articles receive links from other members' articles about a related topic.

The rules

• Only real customer websites with an active subscription take part.
• Two websites never simply swap links: if a site already links to you, it does not get a link back.
• An article receives only one link from the same website.
• Links point to a matching article, not to a random homepage.

To link to your articles, their address has to be known. That happens automatically when you publish via WordPress, via a webhook that returns the address, or once Search Console knows the article.

What you see

The Backlinks page shows per website how many links were received and given, and the most recently received links with anchor text and date. The network grows with what members publish, so links build up gradually.
